This is the most delightful sculpted Wall Hanging of a spirited Affenpinscher, the "monkey faced dog". People in this breed know that it is called the monkey faced dog because it's face should resemble a monkeys. This little pert and happy breed teems with character for me, and I find it very appealing. One forefoot is raised as the "Affen" considers it's viwer...
The sculpted quality of this original piece only come through in person, photos flatten the sculpture.
Dogs are spiritual to me, and for me can impart a sense of happiness; or at other times calmness, and even at other times real joy. This work is engraved with the year 2007, and the artists name in the lower left corner.
So it is that I create these Wall Hangings-And my Hope is that my art makes the owners of it happy-that it brings a smile to their faces each day they view it.
This 10 and 1/8 inch high x 10 and 1/8 long x 1/4 to over one inch deep (thick) sculpted Polymer clay work has TWO professional style wire hang loops sculpted into the back for ease of hanging-in the last photo is a picture of the back of the work-cloth was applied to cushion the piece as it hangs on the wall. Perhaps you can see the two hang loops as well. The back has the title of the work, the artists name, and the year painted there.
Inside the clay at certain points, to add strenght to the work, I used metal wire. And this piece has glass eyes-you should be able to view them in the second photo. After sculpting and firing, then sanding the work, I used high quality Golden Fluid brand and Liquitex brand acrylics to paint this piece. The flowers are sculpted from colored clays for the most part-there is a bit of painting on the Pansies faces. The flower stems are again from colored clays, with some painting.
This " Affen" is painted in gloss black, with blue/gray highlights, some more grayish, some with more blue coming through. I understand that as these dogs age, they can get more grayish overlay in the coat.
This original Wall Hanging will come with a plastic sleeved Certificate Of Authenicity from the artist.
