Robert Rukavina, a Detroit, Michigan resident, was an avid impressionist painter. Born in 1914, Rukavina would later become a member of art clubs and have his work displayed in several galleries. His paintings have since become desirable by many collectors.
This painting displays the loose, yet controlled brushwork that Rukavina is known for. The smooth color transitions are a signature of Rukavinas impressionistic style. The overall cool hues of this painting create a mellow mood. Though the colors do not vary greatly in color, the paintings subject matter and clarity is not hindered, an effect that Rukavina mastered. This painting measures 26.5 x 14.25, including the frame which is a silver and gold colored, stylized, wood frame. This beautiful frame reflects the same mellowness of the painting and helps to give the painting life.
