Artist’s Statement
Slow lines, with dip pen and ink, draw on the surface. The needle reacts with the material’s natural texture in different ways; then fragile images and words start to develop. Through this ritualistic action, memories rekindle, bringing information to be registered through the ink.
Memories from the collective consciousness can be mentioned in different sources such as the “akashic records”, the “book of life”, “somniferous ether” and “cosmic mind” amongst others.
In many creativity exercises to stimulate ideas, we can always connect to several images or archetypes that are can be already known or created by other people.
This can be recognized as something familiar, or sometimes it can only have the suggestion of something ancient.
