Biography
HELLO, My name is DAWN. I am a mosaic artist living and workig in Southern Maryland. I work with vintage and new china and jewelry to create unique one-of-a-kind mosaics. I ALSO DO CUSTOM PIECES I wil also work with your jewelry, trays or china to create a beautiful piece that will hold your memories. A great idea for a MEANINGFUL GIFT. Imagine using a piece of your grandmas china, your mom's old broken pearls, a couple of their mismatched earrings, some treasured pieces from your jewelry box and so on. I will take all the pieces and make them into something beautiful. I recently created a dresser tray for a little girl who lost her mother last year. I used her mother's old costume jewelry. It turned out to be a lovely piece. When I gave it to her, she said "I remember when my mom wore that bracelet." She ran her little fingers over the tray and smiled at me. Then she said "I can see my mommy in here." (I almost cried.) For my good friend's 50th (very tramatic) birthday, I made her a Reflection Bowl. I used pieces from her decesed mother, pieces me. a cuff link from her dad, a tie tack from my husband, a chain her son once wore and pieces from about 5 other people she loves. It waa a lot of work but very beautiful when I finished it. When I gave it to her, I told her that she could look in the bowl to think of the people she loves and who loves her. (Needless to say - we both cried.) ha If you want to give a gift that will be loved and treasured for generations contact me. I can make it happen. Custom pieces are a lot more work but it is more fulfillig for me as an artist to create something that has meaning and will be loved.
