Biography
I have been creating art for 30+ years. Over the years I have seen my work evolve into a theme I refer to as Dreamscapes. ;My studio is located inside a beautiful Victorian home that I share with my lover and long term companion Abel Escobar Mercado. Every summer we visit family members in Zacatecas Mexico. The beautiful and peaceful scenery of Zacatecas does influence my art. The high desert terrain surrounded by mountains and mesas under stormy skies contributes to the overall theme of my work. I paint with oil and acrylic and sometimes combine pen and ink. The ideas conceived in my mind are brought to life on canvas, canvas board, tile, or any other surface, through vibrant colors and three dimensional design

Movement in painting, originating in New York City in the 1940s. It emphasized spontaneous personal expression, freedom from accepted artistic values, surface qualities of paint, and the act of painting itself. Pollock, de Kooning, Motherwell, and Kline, are important abstract expressionists.
