Biography 
Ioan Popei was born in Agapia, Neamt county, Romania, on July 15th, 1954. His first exhibition was in Piatra Neamt in 1985. It is astonishing how Ioan Popei could develop and preserve his skills during the period of Communist rule in Romania.

His paintings have been very well received abroad also, in all the Europe, USA, Canada, Hong Kong and Australia.
