Biography
Name: Jan Ryen Age: 27 Experience: Self Taught Jan is pretty much self taught. He paints fast and in the spur of the moment, to reflect a feeling, mood or a concept. He usually paints on pre-streched, pre-coated gallery profile cotton canvas, but also linen canvas, watercolour paper, canvas paper or anything else that comes to hand. He paints with watercolor and ink-pens on occasion, but he prefers to use acrylic paint and paletteknifes to paint with.

Style Abstract

A 20th century style of painting in which nonrepresentational lines, colors, shapes, and forms replace accurate visual depiction of objects, landscape, and figures. The subjects often stylized, blurred, repeated or broken down into basic forms so that it becomes unrecognizable. Intangible subjects such as thoughts, emotions, and time are often expressed in abstract art form.
