Biography
Olga Dmytrenko was born in the Ukraine. Dmytrenkos love of the visual arts and science was cultivated at a young age her father used to paint in a realistic style, and her mother, a mathematician, gave her passion for science. After graduating from the Republican School of Physics and Mathematics at Kiev State University, she entered the Department of Physics there and in 1986, got her M.Sc. In 1990 she gained a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry. She currently lives and works as a scientist in Delaware, USA.
Despite her deep interest in mathematical sciences, Olga creates organic abstracts in mostly acrylic and metallic paint. Most of her paintings are medium to small in size, done with soft colors and rich golds, often depicting suggestions of clouds, water, and people. Some paintings are more representational and gear towards fantasy themes, but almost all her paintings contain a sort of mythical quality.
