Biography
FACES AND MASKS: The series began with an interest in tribal art. As the drawings progressed, the symbolic nature of the mask -- its association to the human pysche and social behavior within modern standards -- became the main thread of intention for the series. The "Faces and Masks" series is a study of human expressions, emotions, and duality: An exposition of the materals and means used to obscure (and sometimes expose) the naked face. THE SEARCHING HERMIT: The aged seeker of truth, purpose, and reason -- the search for an existential reality is the embodiment of the Searching Hermit. Looking for an answer to a question that may only exist because the human mind can never fully understand the nature of what it seeks, the quest continues without end; not only for a chance to define and understand the universe, but to define, as well, the existence of self within it.

Style Surrealism

An art style developed in Europe in the 1920's, characterized by using the subconscious as a source of creativity to liberate pictorial subjects and ideas. Surrealist paintings often depict unexpected or irrational objects in an atmosphere of fantasy, creating a dreamlike scenario.
