Biography 
• From his childhood Abdul Salim was influenced by the artistic environs in Delhi (India) where he was born on April 14, 1934 and completed his early education from Punjabi Muslim High School in Delhi.

• In 1947 he migrated to Pakistan and settled in Lahore.

• Joined Mayo School of Arts (Now National College of Arts) Lahore and trained under strict tutelage and guidance of Prof. Sheikh Ahmed. Received a Scholarship for being a student of exceptional talent.

• Graduated from the Mayo School of Arts (Now NCA) Lahore. Awarded Medals and several Certificates of Merit.

• Came to Karachi with his mentor Prof. Sheikh Ahmed along with his 3 colleagues, Aftab Zafar, Mohammed Latif and Mukhtar Ahmed to work on 350 historical illustrations for the Textbooks of Pakistani Schools published by Silver Burddete Company, New York.

• Returned to Lahore and opened his own Art Studio to do Free-Lance artworks and designs etc.

• Joined Nawa-I-Waqt Printers, Lahore as Chief Designer and Studio Manager.

• Came to Karachi again to gain experience in advertising and joined Manhattan Advertising Limited and United Advertisers Limited as Senior artist.

• Back to Lahore again and worked as Art Director in Ad-age Advertising.

• Started his own Advertising Agency by the name of "Balance Publicity Service" Lahore and produced multiple campaigns for most of the leading organizations on Pakistan.

• As Managing Director, Balance Publicity Service provided consultancy services for 30 years to Pakistan Railways in the field of designing, printing, publicity and promotions for the Projects of Karachi Circular Railways, Carriage Factory Islamabad, Dry Port Lahore, Khanewal Electrification and full Publicity campaign to celebrate Decade of Development of President Mohammad Ayub Khan's Government etc.

• From time to time produced paintings in Pastels and watercolour and printed on various table and wall calendars for leading companies, such Refhan Maize, Uni Foam, Grays of Cambridge Sialkot, Pioneer Steel Mills, Nestle Milkpak Ltd. and P.O.F. etc. Received many Awards for work.

• Painted 99 Names of Allah in watercolour combined in Arabic and English calligraphy.

• Published a Fancy pocket size book based on 99 names of above calligraphic paintings. It is widely appreciated by people of all walks of life.

• Designed and produced many sets of Greeting cards based on paintings of cultural life of Pakistan.

• Commissioned by Dr. Zafar Haider to produce over 100 illustrations in watercolour and Pen & Ink drawings based on Muslim Armours for 310 pages hardbound deluxe book of "Islamic Arms & Armours of Muslim India".

• Installed high resolution "Colorspan Inkjet Printer with 6 feet width capacity to supply large size prints for hoardings and Billboards etc.

• Produced in large quantity of Digital artistic Prints through computer with "Vacuum Pressure Pen" to create an effect of an Oil or Poster Colour Paintings.

• The first group Exhibition of artistic Digital Prints held on April 26, 2002 at Kunj Art Gallery, Karachi, along-with artistic machine prints of Aftab Zafar and woodcut Prints of Mehboob Ali.

• The second group Exhibition of artistic Digital Prints held on Feburary 1, 2003 at Copera Art Gallery, Lahore, along-with artistic machine prints of Aftab Zafar and woodcut Prints of Mehboob Ali.

• The third group Exhibition of artistic Digital Prints held on October 15, 2003 at Islamabad sponsored by Pakistan National Council of Arts, along-with artistic machine prints of Aftab Zafar and woodcut Prints of Mehboob Ali.

• The fourth group Exhibition of artistic Digital Prints held on January 9, 2004 at Abaseen Gallery, Peshawar, along-with artistic machine prints of Aftab Zafar and woodcut Prints of Mehboob Ali.

• The fifth group Exhibition of artistic Digital Prints held on August 9, 2005 at Art Gallery Idara-e-Saiqafat Balochistah, Quetta, along-with artistic machine prints of Aftab Zafar and woodcut Prints of Mehboob Ali.
