Biography
Cleveland was born 1971 in E.Palo Alto Ca. where he learned to draw from comics, magazines ,or anywhere he could find a illustration to direct his improvement in creating urban & cultural visuals.
His main influence was the instruction from his father Cleveland Sr. who sketched and doodled on paper in his leisure time.
All of the pieces on display were created in San Quentin state prison where one could only create works with whatever materials available, " I put on paper whatever came to my imagination, I escaped through the paper and pen".
A style of painting which depicts subject matter (form, color, space) as it appears in actuality or ordinary visual experience without distortion or stylization. In a general sense, refers to objective representation. More specifically, a nineteenth century movement, especially in France, that rejected idealized academic styles in favor of everyday subjects. Daumier, Millet, and Courbet were realists.
