BIOGRAPHY
Dreja Novak was born in Slovenia in December, 1975. After high school she attended the Accademia Italiana in Florence, Italy. She studied interior design and decoration, however from her early ages she was occupied by fine art, whose perfection was obtained under guidance of Joze Ciuha in his private school. After decade of traveling she developed created her style shown in mosaics, art-deco, figurative, etc. Powerful colors, strong emotions and expressions is her way of talking.
She is a painter who delivers decorativeness in form and colours, expressed in conjunction with elementary symbolism in drawing. She has been always inspired by Gustav Klimt, who was also decorator and painter. Dreja Novak places powerful emphasis on colours, beauty and emotions in hers works specially seen in eyes of portraits or fictitious personalities. She comes to canvas with a desire to make a beautiful painting based on given idea, philosophy or simple story, with no interest in competing with contemporaries, preferring instead to set hers own goals. Her style is to bring classical drawing, as are portraits, and selected aspects of modern art to produce fantastic place and magical story.
Dreja's works can be found in private collections all over the world. She sold many paintings during her eight years long traveling and living in different locations, from New Zealand, Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Singapore, Thailand, Croatia and other. Painting is like a journey that shifts you into a creative world of stories and every new location and culture changes bring new knowledge and ideas to the painter. Deep passion for painting is rewarded by many happy people owning her works. |
