Biography
"Seeing is believing"

Non-traditional Canadian landscapes have been a key component of David Grudniski’s visual vocabulary.

"Landscapes provide an entry point for my audience"

While pushing the perametres of his work David conceptualizes the dynamics of movement , colour and texture to express himself.

David's interested is in loose forms of representation.

The application of oil paint and the balance of colour, scale, line, energy and movement, describes his true being as a Contemporary Abstract Impressionist.

David has a tendency to become completely engrossed in the exploration of his creativity. Because of this emotional connection, his work has grown in size to allow his audience to engage physically with his paintings. David explores a wide range of subjects from raging horses, totems and still lives to vivid non-traditional landscapes. David’s most powerful pieces of work are those created quickly. This allows him to capture the vitality and energy of movement.

David pursued his art career at the Alberta College of Art and Design and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Lethbridge, School of Fine Arts. David has been a painter for over twenty years.

In 2004, David’s nomination for the Governor General’s award of Canada for fine art was a monumental event. He has a loyal following of both private and corporate collectors across Canada, the United States and Europe.

David’s invitation and participation in the 2005 Biennale in Florence Italy was an historical event for him. David describes this show as a life changing experience.

David’s continuing quest to create exceptional art remains his life’s journey.
Pigments mixed with gum and water, and pressed into a dried stick form for use as crayons. Works of art done with such pigments are also called pastels.
