Biography 
Lance Gorton is senior at Rhode Island College. He is pursuing a career in graphic arts. Since the age of six, he's been painting. He has been attending Nancy Stephen Gallery (Instructor; Nancy Schelsa), in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, since the age of then. Lance has won two Scholastic Art Awards for drawing. This prestigious award was the first for any student in West Warwick, RI. Lance is keeping busy with commissions from all over the state for many different style paintings, and also an internship in a design firm; "I paint from the heart, and hope to share my passion with everyone."
Canvas used for oil painting that is typically made of linen or cotton, stretched very tightly and tacked onto a wooden frame. Linen is considered far superior to the heavy cotton for a canvas.
