Biography 
I was born Rene Clarke on March 16th, 1972, in St John's, Newfoundland. I grew up in St John's where I discovered my love for art in high school. I am a self taught, free-hand artist who deals mainly with acrylic, although I also enjoy graphite, charcoal, and watercolour. My paintings are inspired by anything that creates emotion. My love of the ruggedness and beauty of Newfoundland and Labrador has been the focus of most of my paintings, which also reveal the strong character of the people who call this their home.

I received a B.A and a B. Ed. from Memorial University and am presently completing a Masters of Education. I am currently a mother of two and a senior high English and Art teacher. I began exhibiting my work in 2005.
 Media Acrylic
Acrylic is a popular and versatile painting medium, using pigments dispersed in a polymethyl methacrylate vehicle. Acrylic paintings are generally less translucent than oil paintings.
