Biography
Hi there My name is Errol Beckford ,born in Montigo Bay saint Jame Jamaica. From a very young child i used to help the artists in the craft market in the finishing of the designs. As i grew older i developed my own deigns and styles and comissioned other wood carvers to produce my work.Most pieces i design are carved by a number of carvers and finishers which gives each piece its uniqueness. I use native root timber .Root meaning i use the root of the tree ,this is advantages since the wood has been naturally cured over many many years .You also get these beautifull shapes textures and impressions in the wood ,be it cedar mahogany and many other hard woods. I have 2 shops and a website www.landofwood.com which will show you a small ammount of my large collection . A lot of the pieces are of local and african culture .i am sure you will enjoy the many different styles and themes of the art.
