A self taught artist . I was born in Myanmar and grew up in Mumbai-India where I completed my high school and university . I participated in art competitions in school and won awards and accolades . Encouragement from family and friends was always a part of my growing up. A process of self learning and participations in various workshops lead me to improve my techniques . I never had a formal art education so the process of discovering my own style of painting lead me to work harder . I used mediums like  charcoal, dry pastels, oil and acrylic paints. I got passionate about oils and acrylics and have used these since early 90's. Then came a lot of transitions in life..... I came to Canada in 2002 and here began a transition period of employement and family life and my paintings  took a back seat. Until late 2004, I painted a figurative semi abstract oil painting at the request of a friend in the USA which was very much appreciated so I went on to do a series of paintings that are now in my private collection. With this began  the re-awakening of another period in life.  I am a single mother today and look upon the world as a platform to exhibit my art for a livelihood.
