I’m Suranga Dias born in Sri Lanka and presently residing in UK. The beauty and the life style in my country had inspired me to become an artist since I was brought up in country side of Sri Lanka.

I always follow my heart in my paintings which I have done but I always keep a condition on it with figures can be fairly identified and it is combination of both realistic and modern art.

My Vision of Expression

Almost all of my creations carry a message and I prefer to show the hidden reality among people like poverty, pain and sadness. My effort is to open some ones heart towards the people who are suffering in a society. I have educated and enhanced my capability of focusing my eye to be able to read the facial expressions of the people’s faces. Then I try to express those and highlight them in my paintings which gives the art more realistic nature.

My Achievements

I have conducted 5 exhibition in Sri Lanka and presently organising exhibitions to be held in France and UK.

Higher Diploma at Ceylon Art Society founded by Colombo Art Gallery

A member of George  Keith art foundation.

International Diploma of Arts in Pinland.

Gold Medallist at international art competition conducted in Japan

Several Medals in local and Island wide Art competitions in Sri Lanka.

Also I have been invited for several media events such as “ITN –Kaleena Sakachcha, Sirasa TV, Max Television Network” etc. as an artist and also participated as a judge in several arts competitions in Sri Lanka.

I have been a carton artist in No:1 cartoon magazine in Sri Lanka “Gajaman”.

I was a tutor of arts in “Sulalitha Art Academy” Colombo.

In addition to that I have my own studios in Colombo and Gampaha Sri Lanka.

My arts are currently exhibited at famous hotels in Sri Lanka and my fans are throughout the world and I think as an artist that gives me contentment and I hope to enhance my career and go towards more people with my art where I am gifted with.
