The path to art was neither direct nor easy.

2004- I have started to implement my dreams,

Creating was and is my permanent need. Since my childhood, I have been dreaming of becoming an artist. However, only not so long ago I let myself to fulfill this dream. I’ve been in the art industry for over seven years now.

For me to create, that is to paint, means to think, communicate, solve and discover. Painting allows me to meditate upon the nature of being a human and the relationship between me as individual and the others. To create is to be in conversation with other people and to be in a journey of finding the answers by yourself; it is an effort to describe and mediate the day-to-day experience.

While creating, I care about the search for authenticity, naturalness, integration and expression of the inner being.

I assume that my work is well done, if the viewer himself/ herself is willing to interpret and experience the view in front of his/ her eyes. The most wonderful feeling is when my and the viewer’s associations are similar or even stretch the meaning of the painting wider and deeper.  This mutual communication and discovery are the biggest incentives for me to create.

I don’t choose topics for my paintings systematically. They crystallize naturally, as my paintings are usually influenced by and reflect the events accruing in my life or society. As my starting point, I always choose natural motives, plants, domestic utensils, that in their own unique way are relevant and meaningful in order to express the topic and feeling.

At the moment, I work using traditional methods. I paint with oil, acrylic paint on the canvas, cardboard, paper and am also keen on painting with pastel. I almost always select intensive, pure colors . My aim is to achieve a contrasting and laconic effect. While working, I rarely sketch, and rather create here and in the given moment.

2006- First personal exhibition in RumšiškÄ—s.

2007- Exhibition in  Kaišiadorys.

2008- Exhibition in ElektrÄ—nai, Municipality hall.

2009 - Exhibition in Kaunas, Pažaislis church.
