Description

This new original Wall Hanging is a delightful little Schipperke with a large beautiful looking brass collar-I researched this breed and found out that in the 1600's in Belguim, the cobblers (shoemakers) and other workers "would parade thier black tailess dogs down the main street, wearing large, often brass, decorated collars"-were these the first Schipperkes? I do not know, but the idea stuck, and I used very old large metal buttons to form the dogs "large brass collar". He also has glass eyes-I hope you can see them in the second photo. His tongue just barly pokes out, as he is panting-hard work showing off that collar! This artwork is made from fired and painted polymer clays, the acrylics used to paint him are highest quality "Golden Fluid " brand liquid acrylics.

MEASURES: This piece is a compact 8 and 1/4 inches wide x 8 and 1/4 inches tall x 1/4 to 3/4 of an inch deep/thick. The back has two professional style wire hang loops sculpted into the clay for ease of hanging.They will not come out, as they were fired into the clay. The back also has cloth to cushion the work as it hangs on the wall. This is a new work, finished this past August, 2007. This work will come with a Certuficate Of Authenticity-see last photo. A beautiful piece for the Schipperke lover.
