Description

Portrait of Amina Lawal and her child. (2002-2007) Portrait was begun after the artist learned of the story behind this amazing woman. In admiration of her struggle the artist felt compelled to paint her.

Composition balances both warm and cool palettes. Her face is an amazing array of delicate color and texture. Above the bright yellow glow, black paint rises up in impasto.
Canvas was custom stretched by the artist. Premium cotton canvas and heavy duty stretcher bars used.

This work is accompanied with an owners package. It contains:
- Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist
- Authentic Bill of Sale from the artist
- Care Guide
- White Art-handling gloves for the care of your new Fine Art investment

All contained in a sturdy string & button closure envelope, embellished with the artists own embossed wax insignia.

(Portrait of Aminal Lawal. A Nigerian woman sentenced to death by stoning in 2002. In 2003 her sentence was overturned, and is now free.)
