Description

This painting Still life with red pepperI have painted directly from nature without using any photos. I like to paint as much accurate as is possible. That is why it took me over 50 hours to finished it.
This is oil on canvas where first of all I prepared a special background according to Luis Melendez recipe ( lived 1716 - 1780 ). It is very important for me to have this kind or background because it let me paint with great precision using first egg temper and then finishing with oil technique.
Initially I draw precisely the whole subject by pencil on a separate sheet of paper and then I transfer it onto canvas using pastel.
I like Dutch and Flemish paintings , I like this kind of precision where every detail is done as much as possible.
