Candombe (can-dome-bey) is a drum-based musical style of Uruguay. Candombe originated over two hundred years ago among the African population in Montevideo and is based on Bantu African drumming with some European influence and touches of Tango.
This rhythm is still going strong in the streets, halls and carnivals of this small enchanting country.
