Description

Madonna - the Spirit Guard
Sculptures which recall with their formal appearance past, connected with
a material that is often mentioned as a possible base of the future. At
night the light inside of the sculptures ensouls them, while during
daytime blankness dominates.
Anthony GormleyÂ´s art work "Another Place" shows men naked, permanet
exposed to atmospheric conditions at one special place in nature. In
contradiction to Gormley Kielnhofer uses transparent, protective
coverings which encloses mankind normally. Through the airiness of the
used material the Madonnas move easily from one place to the other. Maybe
an analogy connected to Richard SennettÂ´s flexible men? WhoÂ´s searching
for his/her identity and still stays only as a part of the whole picture
of the expectations of a capitalistic and global world?
Manfred Kielnhofers art encourages reflection and opens up new access
related to a hope of something which stays constant and is of continued
existance.
The media- and light artist Manfred Kielnhofer works sucessfully as
self-employed autodidact. His art work is shown nationally as
internationally and attracts with skilful combinations of light and
material. Manfred Kielnhofer works and lives in Linz.
